Softball Game Preview: Van Bulldogs vs. Cross Lanes Christian Warriors

Van is 2-8 against Cross Lanes Christian since March of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. Van is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

Montcalm hit Van with a six-run fourth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bulldogs took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Generals. Bulldogs fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Generals since on Thursday.

Shanna Cabell and Hailey Tackett did some serious damage despite the final result: Cabell went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI, while Tackett went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Elk Valley Christian hit Cross Lanes Christian with a six-run second inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Warriors fell 13-10 to the Eagles. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Hannah Divers made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Izzy Harper, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two RBI.

Cross Lanes Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Van, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-13.
