Basketball Game Preview: Naches Valley Rangers vs. Wapato Wolves

The Naches Valley Rangers will head out to take on the Wapato Wolves at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Naches Valley has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 10.

Naches Valley came up short against Royal on Tuesday, falling 80-56. While losing is never fun, the Rangers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 303rd, while the Knights are ranked fifth).

Meanwhile, in Saturday's Canine Competition, Wapato had to take the L. They took a 74-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cashmere on Saturday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (66), the Wolves still had to take the loss.

Naches Valley's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Wapato, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-3.

Naches Valley ended up a good deal behind Wapato when the teams last played back in February of 2024, losing 74-59. Can Naches Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
