Maywood Academy took a loss when they played away from home on March 10th, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Animo De La Hoya as Maywood Academy made off with a 13-2 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Nighthawks as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, George Washington Prep entered their tilt with Magnolia Science Academy Carson on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Vipers 22-6.

Aracely Gonzales made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
