Basketball Recap: Nova Takes a Loss

Nova lost against Cooper City back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Nova Titans took a blow against the Cooper City Cowboys, falling 89-48.

Cooper City got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Janiel Polanco out in front who went 13 for 16 on his way to 31 points and four steals. Those 31 points gave Polanco a new career-high. Noah Rupert was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 assists.

Nova's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-9. As for Cooper City, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Nova will welcome Schoolhouse Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Schoolhouse Prep's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matchups. As for Cooper City, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Western at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cooper City has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last six games.
