Basketball Recap: Heritage Preparatory Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Heritage Preparatory walked away with it. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 46-43 win over the St. Mary's Academy Bobcats on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Rams sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Heritage Preparatory was led to victory by Drew Fisher and Benjamin Garner. Fisher dropped a double-double with 22 points and 13 rebounds, while Garner posted seven points and eight boards. Fisher's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Graham Gertz also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Heritage Preparatory smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Heritage Preparatory's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for St. Mary's Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-14.

Heritage Preparatory didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-41 defeat against Heritage on the 12th. St. Mary's Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
