Football Recap: Edgewood Piles Up the Points Against Lutheran West

Edgewood's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 34-0 victory over the Lutheran West Longhorns. That looming 34-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Warriors yet this season.

JJ Dufour produced another solid performance throwing for 231 yards and three TDs while completing 77.3% of his passes, and also rushing for 64 yards. That's the most passing yards he has posted since back in October of 2024. Devon Sanchez was Dufour's top target, picking up 97 receiving yards and one score.

Edgewood didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Brayden Hall and Dezarion Triplin.

Edgewood's win ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-1. As for Lutheran West, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, Edgewood will look to defend their home field on Friday against West Geauga at 7:00 p.m. As for Lutheran West, they will venture away from home to face off against Conneaut at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Longhorns will be up against the Spartans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.75 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
