Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Quincy Washington and Syrus Webb Lead Otay Ranch to Victory + How To Watch

There's no place like home for Otay Ranch, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They managed a 63-58 victory over the Kearny Komets on Wednesday. The Mustangs' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Otay Ranch was led to victory by Syrus Webb and Quincy Washington. Webb posted 20 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals, while Washington had 19 points. Washington continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Chris Esquibel also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Otay Ranch was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Despite the loss, Kearny saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kailoa Yamamura went 8-for-12 on his way to 16 points and five boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Yamamura has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Arthur Minton, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds.

The win got Otay Ranch back to even at 2-2. As for Kearny, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 2-2.

Otay Ranch didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 60-53 loss against San Diego on the 5th. As for Kearny, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 71-55 victory against Escondido Charter on the 5th.
