Elgin barely beat Ridgemont the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Comets blew past the Golden Gophers 15-4 on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Comets, who have now won five games by six runs or more so far this season.

The victory (which was Elgin's third in a row) raised their record to 5-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Ridgemont, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Elgin will square off against rival Cory-Rawson at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Ridgemont is set to face off against their familiar foe Temple Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
