Basketball Recap: Wayne Academy Has No Trouble Against East Rankin Academy

Wayne Academy won the last time they faced East Rankin Academy and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Wayne Academy Jaguars blew past the East Rankin Academy Patriots 62-36. Given the Jaguars' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while the Patriots are ranked 267th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Wayne Academy has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for East Rankin Academy, they are on a 32-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-16.

Wayne Academy will take on Leake Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Leake Academy will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Wayne Academy surely won't give up without a fight. East Rankin Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
