Baseball Recap: Norco Gets the Win

Arlington typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Norco proved too difficult a challenge. They had just enough and edged out the Lions 1-0. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won three in a row.

Trent Schlim looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, Norco's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kevin Leon, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double was Leon's first of the season.

Norco's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Arlington, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4.

Norco has already played their next contest, a 6-0 win against Los Osos on the 29th. As for Arlington, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 18-0 victory against Poly on the 27th.
