Softball Game Preview: Streetsboro Rockets vs. Edgewood Warriors

The Streetsboro Rockets will face off against the Edgewood Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.

Friday just wasn't the day for Streetsboro's offense. They came up short against Solon on Friday, falling 10-0. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Rockets' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Edgewood entered their tilt with Conneaut on Thursday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Spartans a 10-0 shutout. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.

Edgewood let Carly Tracy and Sydney Miller run wild. Tracy went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double, while Miller went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Carly Kray, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Edgewood was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .481. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2024.

Edgewood's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Streetsboro, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-8.

Streetsboro took their win against Edgewood in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 12-2 score. Will the Rockets repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
