Pahrump Valley posted their closest win since March 12th on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Needles Mustangs 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Trojans: when they faced off against the Mustangs back in March, they had to take a 10-6 loss.

Tony Whitney made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Whitney was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aidyn Cratty, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Pahrump Valley is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Needles, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-8-1.

Pahrump Valley has already played their next matchup, an 11-1 defeat against The Meadows School on the 16th. As for Needles, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-7 win against White Pine on the 18th.
