Basketball Game Preview: Pine Crest Panthers vs. NSU University Sharks

Pine Crest hasn't had much luck against NSU University recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Panthers just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Sharks at 8:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Pine Crest and Saint Andrew's had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Panthers fell 85-80 to the Scots on Tuesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (61), the Panthers still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led NSU University over Gulliver Prep in every quarter on their way to victory on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Sharks blew the Raiders out of the water with a 64-31 final score. The Sharks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 31 points or more this season.

Pine Crest better keep an eye on Ahmed Mustapha. He was instrumental in NSU University's win, dropping a double-double with 17 points and 18 boards. Justin Rhodes was another key player, going 5-for-8 en route to 15 points.

NSU University was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gulliver Prep only racked up five.

The win made it two in a row for NSU University and bumps their season record up to 4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points over those games. As for Pine Crest, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Things could have been worse for Pine Crest, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 64-45 loss to NSU University in their previous meeting back in February.
