Baseball Recap: Logan Comes Up Short

Logan and Gateway Christian squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Logan had to settle for second. They came up short against the Warriors, falling 12-2. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Longhorns couldn't push the score so high this time.

Logan saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aydin Kotara, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one double. Kotara has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

Logan moved to 11-8 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Gateway Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Logan does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Gateway Christian, they will square off against Magdalena at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The Steers will roll in looking for their 17th straight victory, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight.
