Soccer Game Preview: Stony Point vs. Round Rock

The Stony Point Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Round Rock Dragons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Stony Point is likely headed into the game with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Round Rock Westwood on Tuesday. Stony Point came up short against Round Rock Westwood, falling 3-0. That's two games in a row now that the Tigers have lost by exactly three goals.

Stony Point was without their leading scorer, Isaiah Blake, in Tuesday's contest. With Blake sidelined, Daniel Sawyer got his first action of the season.

Meanwhile, for the first time since back in January, Round Rock was forced to settle for a draw on Friday. Neither they nor Round Rock Westwood could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

This is the second loss in a row for Stony Point and nudges their season record down to 5-6-1. With that draw, Round Rock's record moves to 7-3-2.

Stony Point came up short against Round Rock in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 3-1. Can Stony Point avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
