There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. That and more in this week's report.
No Stoppin 'Em
Last week things went just as the rankings predicted for Moore -- in other words, less than ideal. Union delivered Moore a harsh 55 - 12 defeat. Unfortunately, the loss ended Moore's four-game winning streak. The combined 88-point effort made this the highest-scoring game in the power rankings for the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
On paper, the match between Yukon (19th in the MaxPreps state rankings) and Jenks (2nd) looked as though it might be one of the more compelling ones, but things did not play out that way on the field. Yukon had a lot of difficulties with Jenks and took a hard 48 - 17 hit. Yukon may have lost, but it can look to its two positions improvement in the power as a consolation prize.
Movin on Up
It isn't too difficult to come out on top when you enjoy a 177-yard edge over your opponent, and Meeker had just that last week. It took its contest against Chandler by a conclusive 42 - 12 score. The high-scoring offensive effort was a definite turnaround from Meeker's flat performance last game. The team's efforts were enough to boost its power ranking by nine, which was the most sizeable gain made by any team in the rankings.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Edmond Santa Fe (14th in the MaxPreps state rankings) and Broken Arrow (1st). Both teams have their heads held high after dominating their previous opponents. Edmond Santa Fe and Broken Arrow both have plenty of landslide victories under their belts (Edmond Santa Fe with four and Broken Arrow with five), but only one can come away triumphant this week. We'll find out who that is soon.
