Franklin had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Wednesday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Elk Grove Thundering Herd. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-1 last Monday.

Kyle Pott spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jason Harris was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Royal McKinney, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Franklin's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Elk Grove, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-7.

Franklin will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Thundering Herd: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
