Volleyball Game Preview: Argyle Orioles vs. Southwestern Wildcats

Argyle hasn't had much luck against Southwestern recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Orioles will face off against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Argyle is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.

Argyle is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Everything went their way against Benton as they made off with a 3-0 victory.

Argyle found their leader in sophomore Brynn Harris, who had 13 digs and two aces. Harris has been hot recently, having posted 13 or more digs the last three times she's played.

Argyle was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in nine consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Southwestern posted their closest win since September 18th on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Potosi 3-2. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Chieftains recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Southwestern's win bumped their record up to 14-11. As for Argyle, their victory bumped their record up to 24-1.

Argyle beat Southwestern 2-0 in their previous matchup back in September of 2024. Will the Orioles repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
