Softball Game Preview: Ravenscroft Ravens vs. North Raleigh Christian Academy Knights

Ravenscroft is 0-10 against North Raleigh Christian Academy since March of 2019 but things could change on Monday. The Ravenscroft Ravens will host the North Raleigh Christian Academy Knights at 4:15 p.m. The contest will give Ravenscroft their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season.

Ravenscroft is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They lost 17-2 to GRACE Christian. Having soared to a lofty 20 runs in the game before, the Ravens couldn't push the score so high this time.

Ravenscroft saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sam Shirley, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Meanwhile, North Raleigh Christian Academy came into Thursday's game having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Jordan by a score of 11-8 on Thursday. With that victory, the Knights brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.

Ainsley Thomas was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cora Harmsen, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Ravenscroft's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for North Raleigh Christian Academy, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Ravenscroft hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .360. However, it's not like North Raleigh Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .331. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
