Recap: Jewish Culture Lions vs. Downtown Doral Dolphins
The Jewish Culture Lions scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They came out on top against Downtown Doral by a score of 73-61. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Jewish Culture has managed all season.
Jewish Culture can attribute much of their success to Ben Lasry, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Hazan, who scored 21 points along with seven assists.
When it comes to explaining why Downtown Doral lost, one person who can't be blamed is Juan Diego Castro. Despite the final result, he scored 32 points. The matchup was Castro's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Samuel Salas was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Even though they lost, Downtown Doral were working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jewish Culture only posted 19 assists.
Jewish Culture's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Downtown Doral, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Katz Yeshiva the next time they take the court. Jewish Culture will host Katz Yeshiva at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Downtown Doral will head out to face them at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
