Basketball Game Preview: Aspermont Hornets vs. Jayton Jaybirds

Aspermont hasn't had much luck against Jayton recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Aspermont Hornets are taking a road trip to square off against the Jayton Jaybirds at 4:00 p.m. Aspermont will be strutting in after a victory while Jayton will be coming in after a loss.

Aspermont saw some tournament action on Thursday. Everything went their way against Paducah as Aspermont made off with a 55-32 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hornets.

Meanwhile, Jayton had to suffer through a 57-27 loss at the hands of Roscoe. The contest marked the Jaybirds' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Aspermont has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.0 points per game. As for Jayton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-7.

Aspermont lost to Jayton on the road by a decisive 51-36 margin when the teams last played back in November of 2022. Can Aspermont avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
