Recap: Freeman Scotties vs. Riverside Rams
The Freeman Scotties came tearing into Tuesday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 44.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They snuck past Riverside with a 68-62 victory. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Leading Freeman to victory were Tanner Goldsmith and Colton Wells. Goldsmith scored 20 points, while Wells scored 24 points. Those 24 points set a new season-high mark for him. Caleb Grant was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Freeman's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.3 points per game. As for Riverside, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Freeman will challenge Medical Lake at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Medical Lake will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings (they are ranked 320th, while Freeman is ranked 28th). Riverside is on the road again on Friday and play against Deer Park at 5:45 p.m. on January 12th. Deer Park is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
