High school football: Georgia's Gunner Stockton approaching No. 3 on all-time career touchdowns list

By Kevin Askeland Oct 14, 2021, 11:30am

Maty Mauk of Kenton (Ohio) holds all-time record, Jake Browning of Folsom is second.

Gunner Stockton of Rabun County (Tiger, Ga.) recently surpassed DeShaun Watson of Gainesville as the all-time total touchdowns leader in Georgia, but he is also rising on the national all-time total touchdowns list.

With 221 total touchdowns passing and rushing combined, Stockton is No. 6 all-time on the top 50 total career touchdowns list. He's nine scores out of third place, held by Chazz Surratt of East Lincoln (Denver, N.C.), who had 229 total touchdowns. Will Grier of Davidson Day (Davidson, N.C.) has 226 while Grant Gunnell of St. Pius X (Houston) has 223.

Maty Mauk of Kenton (Ohio) is the all-time leader with 278 total touchdowns. Jake Browning of Folsom (Calif.) is No. 2 with 243.

The all-time list includes several players whose career rushing touchdowns could not be determined. Ben Mauk of Kenton (Ohio), for instance, had 18 rushing touchdowns as a senior and 11 as a juniors, but his sophomore touchdowns have not been reported. Others who fall in that type of category have been marked with an asterisk. Their partial rushing touchdown totals have been added to their passing touchdown marks.

Sources for the list include state association websites and the MaxPreps leaderboards. Additions or corrections? Kevinaskeland65@gmail.com.
