Baseball Game Preview: Tullahoma Wildcats vs. Marshall County Tigers

For the second straight game, Tullahoma will face off against Marshall County. The Wildcats will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. Tullahoma is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

Tullahoma proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by seven) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Marshall County 10-9.

Tullahoma let Trevor Cole and Andrew Fulmer run wild. Cole went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI, while Fulmer went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most hits Cole has posted since back in March. Mason Bratcher was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Tullahoma kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marshall County only managed seven hits.

Marshall County has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 13 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season. As for Tullahoma, their win bumped their record up to 21-8.

Marshall County's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Tullahoma hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .312.
