Basketball Recap: Akiachak Gets the Win

Even if it wasn't a dominant performance, the Akiachak Huskies beat the Nome-Beltz Nanooks 47-42 on Saturday.

Charlie Chingliak had another great game (as he tends to do), putting up 29 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Akiachak's points. Ethan Pasitnak was another key player, scoring eight points.

Akiachak's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Nome-Beltz, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-4.

Akiachak does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Nome-Beltz, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 60-55 loss against South Anchorage on the 17th.
