Isabella Brown was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one triple. That triple marked the first that she hit this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Peyton Watts, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-2. Sulexy Falcon was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one double.
The First Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Montverde Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Trinity Prep on Monday, taking the game 6-1.
La'Breah Sands spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 16 Ks. Those 16 strikeouts gave her a new career-high.
At the plate, Luna Taboas was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-4. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Danika Spinogatti, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
The First Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Montverde Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 10-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. The First Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Montverde Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
The First Academy couldn't quite finish off Montverde Academy when the teams last played back in February of 2024 and fell 3-1. Will The First Academy have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
