Basketball Recap: Wayne County Takes a Loss

Wayne County was the 61-31 winner over Green County when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Cardinals fell 58-50 to the Dragons on Sunday. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wayne County now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Green County, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wayne County will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Breckinridge County at 2:30 p.m. on January 3, 2026. As for Green County, they will finish 2025 at home by hosting Grayson County at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday.
