Preview: Salem Christian Eagles vs. Veritas Academy Monarch
The Salem Christian Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Veritas Academy Monarch at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Salem Christian is no doubt hoping to put an end to a nine-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Monday, Salem Christian was beaten by the Jaguars 59-24.
Meanwhile, Veritas Academy came into Friday's match having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 65-52 victory over Lititz Christian on Friday. The victory was just what Veritas Academy needed coming off of a 66-29 defeat in their prior matchup.
Salem Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Veritas Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 5-11.
Salem Christian strolled past the Monarch in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 by a score of 62-48. The rematch might be a little tougher for Salem Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
