Baseball Recap: Camp Point Central Takes a Loss

After flying high against Augusta Southeastern on Monday, Camp Point Central came back down to earth. The Panthers lost 15-2 to the Seymour Indians on Tuesday. Panthers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Indians since on Tuesday.

Nate Peters was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Garrett Neisen, who went 3-for-4 with one double.

Camp Point Central has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Seymour, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-9.

Coincidentally, Camp Point Central and Seymour will both be playing Beardstown the next time they take the field. The Indians will host the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Panthers will head out to face them at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
