Baseball Game Preview: Cheney Blackhawks vs. Mead Panthers

For the second straight game, Cheney will face off against Mead. The Blackhawks are taking a road trip to challenge the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Cheney is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 12 runs last Tuesday, they were much more limited against Mead on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 2-1. The loss continues a trend for the Blackhawks in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost three in a row.

Jace Vega spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Cheney is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-5 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Cheney saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Martin, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Cheney now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Mead, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-10.
