Baseball Game Preview: Pine Ridge Panthers vs. Eustis Panthers

Pine Ridge will face off against Eustis at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pine Ridge has given up an average of 6.6 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Pine Ridge came up short against Mount Dora Christian Academy on Monday, falling 12-1. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Pine Ridge got a good showing from Eric Castillo, who tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Pine Ridge saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sam Figueroa, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Figueroa is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Eustis, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over Mount Dora on Friday.

Braeden Barnes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ethan Jackson, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Phillips, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.

Eustis' win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Pine Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

Pine Ridge beat Eustis 6-3 in their previous meeting back in March of 2025. Does Pine Ridge have another victory up their sleeve, or will Eustis turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
