Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Moberly

Moberly had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Warrensburg Tigers by a score of 58-50. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Spartans' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while the Tigers are ranked 299th).

Moberly got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Amar'E Hawkins out in front who dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten boards. That's the most rebounds Hawkins has posted since back in February of 2025. Another player making a difference was Kish Jacobs, who shot 45% from the field on his way to 11 points along with seven boards and six assists.

Moberly was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matchups.

Moberly's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Warrensburg, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Moberly will venture away from home to challenge Fulton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Warrensburg, they will challenge Pleasant Hill at 5:30 p.m. on the 22nd.
