Volleyball Recap: Makayla Johnson Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Greensville County + How To Watch

Southampton won the last time they faced Greensville County and things went their way on Thursday too. The Indians came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Indians.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-27, 25-14, 25-17.

Southampton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Makayla Johnson led the charge by getting six aces, five kills, and five digs. The dominant performance also gave Johnson a new career-high in assists (28). Another player making a difference was Micah Taylor, who had 26 digs.

Southampton's record is now 8-6. As for Greensville County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Looking ahead, Southampton will look to defend their home court on Monday against Southampton Academy at 7:00 p.m. As for Greensville County, they are taking a road trip to challenge Sussex Central at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
