Softball Recap: Moline Comes Up Short

If Moline was riding high fresh off their 33-3 takedown of Galesburg last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Maroons fell just short of the East Moline United Panthers by a score of 9-8 on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-7 back in April.

Nicole Carman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Emersyn Rasso, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

Moline's loss dropped their record down to 10-16. As for East Moline United, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Moline will take on rival Sterling at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, East Moline United is set to square off against their familiar foe Alleman at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
