Football Preview: St. James Wildcats vs. Archbishop Shaw Eagles        
        
		
             St. James has been on the road for two straight, but  on Friday they'll finally head home. They will host the Archbishop Shaw Eagles  at 7:00  p.m. St. James' defense has only allowed 12  points per game  this season, so Archbishop Shaw's offense will have their work cut out for them.
 Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, St. James beat St. Charles Catholic 15-11.
 A big part of St. James'  victory came down to the chemistry between  Jajuan Jackson and his top target  Jakias Villanueva. Jackson threw for 107 yards and two touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes while  Villanueva picked up 117 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Villanueva got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 78 yards.
 Meanwhile, Archbishop Shaw won against Lafayette Christian Academy  two weeks ago with 31  points and they decided to stick to that  point total again  on Friday. Archbishop Shaw took down De La Salle 31-13. Given the Eagles' advantage  in MaxPreps' Louisiana football rankings  (they are ranked 16th, while the Cavalier are ranked 62nd), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 St. James pushed their record up to 3-1 with the  win, which was their ninth straight  on the road dating back to last season. As for Archbishop Shaw, they now  have a winning record of 3-2.
 St. James beat Archbishop Shaw 37-27  when the teams last played  back in September of 2021. Does  St. James have another victory up their sleeve, or will Archbishop Shaw turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
