While Washington Tech's win against Humboldt wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 20-19 victory over the Hawks on Friday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Washington Tech got a massive performance out of Gwendolyn Redmon, who went 4-for-5 with two triples, five RBI, and three runs. Redmon is crushing it when it comes to RBI: she's brought in at least four every time she's taken the field this season. Angelin Nay was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with five stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Washington Tech kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Washington Tech's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Humboldt, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.
