Soccer Recap: Goldsboro Takes a Loss

Goldsboro lost against Princeton back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Goldsboro Cougars fell just short of the Princeton Bulldogs by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 359th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 92nd).

Goldsboro dropped their record down to 1-5-2 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Princeton, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.

Looking ahead, Goldsboro will head out to square off against South Lenoir at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Princeton, they will welcome Spring Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Princeton's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
