Basketball Recap: Felagai Laumea and Falesefulu Mau Secure Win for Chaputnguak

It's playoff time, and Chaputnguak had no trouble coming through when it counted. They took down the Ayaprun Jaegers 61-45 on Thursday. That's the fourth time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 63-36 victory last Saturday.

Chaputnguak was led to victory by Falesefulu Mau and Felagai Laumea. Mau posted 15 points, while Laumea scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Trennon Abraham, who put up nine points.

Chaputnguak has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points over those games. Ayaprun is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.

Chaputnguak didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 98-71 defeat against Nelson Island on the 20th. As for Ayaprun, they have also already played their next contest, a 74-72 win against Nightmute Elitnaurviat on the 20th.
