Football Recap: Richmond Senior Falls to Hoggard in First Game of Season

Richmond Senior had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a 28-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hoggard Vikings on Friday.

Matthew Boring looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 202 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 77.1% of his passes, and also punching in one score on the ground. What's more, he racked up 16 rushing yards, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. 85 of Boring's passing yards were hauled in by Desyn Durand.

Looking ahead, Richmond Senior will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Scotland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hoggard, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will take on Jack Britt at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
