Recap: Largo Lions vs. Gwynn Park Yellowjackets
After flying high against the Fairmont Heights Hornets last Thursday, the Largo Lions came back down to earth. Largo took a 80-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of Gwynn Park on Tuesday. Largo has struggled against Gwynn Park recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Gwynn Park got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Geornae Davis out in front who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Davis has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Keira Mason, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds.
Largo's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Gwynn Park, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-4.
Largo will head out on the road to square off against Friendly at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Gwynn Park, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Fairmont Heights at 6:30 p.m. Fairmont Heights is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
