Mankato East entered their tilt with Stevens Point on Thursday with 13 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 14. They blew past the Stevens Point Panthers, posting a 78-50 win. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked tenth in Minnesota, while the Panthers are ranked 105th in Wisconsin), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mankato East's victory bumped their record up to 15-1. As for Stevens Point, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season.
