Basketball Game Preview: Lafayette Generals vs. Owen County Rebels

The Lafayette Generals will square off against the Owen County Rebels at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Owen County will be up against a hot Lafayette squad: the team just extended their winning streak to six. Lafayette blew past Scott County 65-44 on Friday. Given the Generals' advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Cardinals are ranked 99th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Owen County took their game on Thursday with ease, bagging a 50-21 win over Boone County.

Owen County has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-12 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.7 points over those games. Lafayette pushed their record up to 22-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.
