After losing to Columbia the last time they met, Guilderland decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Flying Dutchmen sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Blue Devils on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Flying Dutchmen as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Giada Vivenzio spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Guilderland secured the win behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Lydia Santabarbara, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base.

Guilderland's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Columbia, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-8.
