Baseball Recap: Richmond Has No Trouble Against Hoke County

Richmond got themselves on the board against Hoke County on Monday, but Hoke County never followed suit. They blew past the Bucks 8-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Raiders.

Caden Nolan made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run.

In other batting news, Evan Hodges was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jabari Douglas, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Richmond's record is now 15-9. As for Hoke County, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-20.

Looking ahead, Richmond will challenge Lee County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Yellow Jackets will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Raiders surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hoke County, they have already played their next match, a 10-0 loss against Southern Lee on the 28th.
