Lafayette came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Caledonia Cavaliers. The Commodores' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

While Lafayette ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-20, 25-19.

Lafayette's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 9-16. As for Caledonia, their win bumped their record up to 17-10-2.

Lafayette wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Starkville on the 20th. As for Caledonia, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Amory on the 22nd.
