Baseball Recap: Maywood Academy Comes Up Short

Maywood Academy came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Lincoln Tigers, falling 12-3. The Nighthawks were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in March of 2019.

Maywood Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Francisco De La Torre, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Maywood Academy's loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Lincoln, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Maywood Academy and Lincoln will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. Maywood Academy will face off against rival Marquez at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Lincoln is set to challenge their familiar foe Bravo at 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
