Softball Game Preview: Valley Lumberjacks vs. Madonna Blue Dons

Valley is 0-3 against Madonna since March of 2017 but things could change on Saturday. Valley will look to defend their home field against Madonna at 12:00 p.m. Valley has given up an average of 14.9 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Valley is headed into Saturday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Thursday. They came up short against Magnolia, falling 19-2.

Meanwhile, Madonna came tearing into Friday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Blue Devils get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. Considering the Blue Dons have won three games by more than ten runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Madonna pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.
