Baseball Recap: Montrose Comes Up Short

Montrose was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Birch Run Panthers, falling 12-2.

Montrose saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Huckleberry, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run. RJ Cummings also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Montrose's record is now 0-5. As for Birch Run, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Montrose is headed away from home for the first time to square off against Lakeville at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season. As for Birch Run, they will challenge Ovid-Elsie at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
