Softball Recap: Little Rock Southwest Gryphons vs. Jonesboro Hurricane
Little Rock Southwest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They lost 17-5 to the Jonesboro Hurricane. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hurricane this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-9 on April 1st.
Little Rock Southwest saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lariah Gipson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Natalie Jones also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Little Rock Southwest's record is now 4-16. As for Jonesboro, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-11.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Little Rock Southwest will take on rival Bryant at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Jonesboro is set to challenge their familiar foe Cabot at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
