Softball Recap: Hamilton Marines vs. Elkhart Christian Academy Eagles
Hamilton dropped their record down to 5-5 on Saturday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They lost 10-0 to the Elkhart Christian Academy Eagles. For Elkhart Christian Academy's part, not much got past Naomi Herbster, who gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Hamilton off the board. Herbster has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Brianna Ehninger was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Ryleigh Viront was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Hamilton and Elkhart Christian Academy are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches.
